Support the 7th/8th Grade
Silent Auction benefitting
Touro Synagogue’s 7th and 8th grade religious school class is seeking donations for a silent auction to benefit The First 72+. The First 72+ is an organization that assists people who have been incarcerated assimilate back into the community by providing them with initial shelter and help finding them work. To learn more about First 72 +,
please see their website at: www.first72plus.org
This year’s religious school curriculum has focused on “Tzedakah,” as well as social justice issues. The class was very moved by our discussion on incarceration, and this organization has inspired the class to give back to their community.
This year’s class project will feature an event, where the students will showcase a documentary explaining the purpose of The First 72+, as well as a silent auction where proceeds will be donated to the organization. We are seeking donations, of all sorts, for our silent auction on Sunday, April 26. Anything you could donate would be wonderful
and greatly appreciated!
Thank you, from the 7th and 8th grade teachers,
Alysse Fuchs and Jared Glassman
